Daniel K. Diamond Jewelry

Daniel Koren is no stranger to diamonds. Like many in industry, he grew up working in the business with his father, Joseph, also a diamantaire. For the past 10 years, Daniel’s own diamond jewelry brand, Daniel K., has been turning out Couture pieces with his signature stone cut, the Asscher; more recently, fashion pieces in the Prêt-à-porter line give fans some everyday wear diamond jewelry options.

This morning, I saw his latest creations for fall 2009. Among them were cufflinks for men, and numerous new collections for women: Plume, Dots, Starry Night, Geometric, and additions to existing lines. In general, Prêt-à-porter pieces start at $3,000 retail, and are made in 18k white, rose, or yellow gold and feature diamonds. A tiny round brilliant diamond is set into the backs of all Prêt-à-porter pieces, while a diamond set in a star is on the back of Couture jewelry.

Earrings and a necklace from Dots (the dots on the necklace feature pave on both sides).

Starry Night pieces feature black and colorless diamonds.

Pieces from the Geometric collection feature squared-off angles.

And the pièce de résistance: a $2.2 million suite of yellow and colorless diamonds. What a beautiful way to start the day.
