St. Petersburg, Fla.--This year marks the 100th anniversary of Universal Pictures, and multi-media retailer HSN is helping the studio mark its centennial with a collection of fashion jewelry inspired by some of the most iconic films of all time.

The Universal Vault Jewelry Collection launched Thursday across all HSN’s platforms, television, online and mobile. Hollywood costume designer Debra McGuire appeared on HSN to showcase the collection.

The debut collection, which takes its queues from Hollywood’s most glamorous women, includes more than 40 pieces ranging in price from $22.95 for a pair of button pearl earrings with pave frame to $199.95 for a “canary and clear” pear-shaped drop necklace. Other pieces in the collection include an emerald necklace, aqua and jonquil “burst” ring and multicolored cluster earrings with pearl accents.

Films that inspired the jewelry include Pillow Talk (1959) starring Rock Hudson and Doris Day, Female on the Beach (1955) starring Joan Crawford, Lover Come Back (1961) also with Rock Hudson and Doris Day, and Madame X (1966) with Lana Turner and John Forsythe.

More theme and designs will be added throughout the year based on additional films. Universal is slated to restore and re-release 13 of its most well-known movies throughout the year.

“Films have influenced fashion trends for decades,” said John Bosco, senior vice president of apparel, accessories and jewelry for HSN. “Having access to Universal Pictures’ rich heritage of iconic films has given us an amazing opportunity to create a one-of-kind collection of timeless designs that celebrate the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.”
