Audio recordings of high-end presentations on the state of the Jewellery and Gem industry in Asia will be available starting from September 23rd on www.JewelleryNetAsia.com. The recordings are taken from the Jewellery Online Conference, the first event of its kind in the jewellery industry, which took place on September 6, 2010.
643 industry professionals, mostly traders, wholesalers, manufacturers and consultants had registered to follow the online presentations from over 50 countries. Many engaged into Q&A sessions with the five presenters, all being CEO’s of global players.
One presentation recording will be released each week starting with ‘State of the Industry’ by Dilip Mehta, (The Rosy Blue Group) on Thursday, September 23, 2010. The rest of the presentations will be released in the following order over the next four weeks: ‘Hong Kong and China in the Diamond World after the Financial Tsunami’ by Lawrence Ma (Lee Heng Diamond Co.), ‘India Implosion’ by Vinod Hayagriv (C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons), ’Consumption & Production Patterns’ by Prida Tiasuwan (Pranda Group), ‘Coloured Gemstones, Retail and the China Market’ by Lorenzo Yih (LJ International Inc.).
The groundbreaking Jewellery Online Conference was organised and hosted by the trade portal JewelleryNetAsia and the magazine Jewellery News Asia of UBM Asia.
Attendees and speakers acknowledged that the new concept – a live and interactive broadcast on the internet - was a big success. Vinod Hayagriv, Managing Director of C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons said: "JOC was inspiring. Such online discussions will help to align businesses and increase learned exchanges. I hope we can do this on various focus areas of our industry." An attendee stated: “Felt like future has arrived. A great experience for the mass of dealers across the globe without traveling. It was knowledge sharing while saving time and money. This is the need of the hour…Thanks […] for making the world smaller.”
The audio recordings can be accessed by registered users at JewelleryNetAsia, starting from September 23rd 2010. Interested parties can register for a free user account. The next edition of JOC is scheduled for early next year.
