How To Cut a Rubber Mold
Placing the surgical blade on is easy and safe. Push the blade in to the handle using the white soft plastic circle in center of rubber mold mate board.
Blade is dull when it cuts choppy. Try not to continue cutting, (you will not cut a good rubber mold). Removal is easy without cutting your fingers. Place blade between 2 green steel plates and twist.
Remove the sprue former with a pliers before you do any cutting because the blade will dull if you touch any metal .
With a sharp blade in the handle dip knife into water (orange cup), this makes your blade slide easier and last longer. Cut around 3 sides of the mold (not the bottom) about 1/2" deep.
Using the yellow clamp as a third hand grab the right hand corner of the rubber mold (squeeze tight so it does not slip off). Lean the bottom edge of the mold against the kick back bar and set the ball chain in blue holder. As you get deeper into the mold shorten the ball chain so you stay in the work area. Start cutting from the sprue to the outside edge making zigzag cuts by turning your knife side to side .
For safety always work on your right hand side if you are right handed and keep turning the rubber mold as you cut. Always cut away from yourself.
