HOW DO WE MAKE MODELS AND JEWELRY?

There are several methods available.  The easiest is via email.  Simply email your jewelry design idea, logo and measurements to us.  Once received we will telephone/email you to discuss and confirm your order.  The CAD department then goes to work and creates your piece in stunning 3-D detail.  We are ready to render the piece based on the choices you desire.  A platinum and diamond ring on snow or a platinum and rose gold pendant with tsavorites and pink diamonds on burl wood, either way your customer or board members will be amazed and delighted.

The model is then ready for the casting process.  We use precise digitally controlled electric burnout ovens.  We have co-developed a special burnout cycle to constantly provide porosity free, crisp and clean castings.  Using a magnetic barrel tumbler will pre-finish your casting.  If your jewelry design calls for multiple pieces or two tones the goldsmith or platinumsmiths will assemble and prepare the piece for the setter.  If you supplied your own stones we will have them set them in the correct manner.  If you ordered stones from us we set those in the correct manner.  The jewelry is now ready for the finisher, probably the most important person in the shop.  He alone has the final important job of making it shine before you see it!

How is it done?

Computer-aided jewelry model design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) is the use of computer technology to aid in the model design and especially the drafting (technical drawing and engineering drawing) of a part or product. Current CAD/CAM software systems are capable to present 3D solid and surface forms. Modern CAD/CAM packages can also frequently allow rotations in three dimensions, allowing viewing of a designed object from any desired angle, even from the inside looking out.

CAD/CAM is used in the model design of complex creations of jewellery as well as in simple patterns.

CAD/CAM has become an especially important technology within the scope of computer-aided technologies, with benefits such as lower product development costs and a greatly shortened development cycle. CAD/CAM enables artists to lay out and develop work on screen, print it out and save it for future editing, saving time on their drawings.

Our engineers are crafting in CAD/CAM software such as the latest generation of Rhino and Matrix.

Because of the high cost of rapid prototyping equipment and the high level of technical expertise required to reliably produce perfect parts, the trend is to use specialized third-party service bureaus.

We offer reduced time and cost for artists and their clients with state-of-the-art technology. Our machines build wax models, suchas Jewelry Models, from computer files using thermoplastics that are perfect components for investment casting. See some of the machinery here >>

Our systems reduce cost and time-to-market by translating CAD Designs into hard copy 3D models. These models are so accurate that jewellery designers can go beyond concept modeling to produce tooling grade patterns ready for casting or mold-making.

Jointly CAD/CAM allows the crafting of jewelry using a computer (CAD) and creates an exact hard copy model of a jewelry piece using a computer controlled manufacturing device (CAM). Our technicians utilize all file types compatible with any CAM device, which allows us to quickly generate a precise wax model ready for casting.

Stereolithography and these other hard model technologies are the future of the jewelry industry. Leading jewelers effectively use CAM "service bureaus" that specialize in prototype output.

Our technicians have been in the jewelry business since 1983, operating in various branches of the industry. We are some of the finest jewelry manufacturers and jewelers in the industry.

The term is often tied to the various applied arts and engineering. As a verb, "to design" refers to the process of originating and developing a plan for a product, structure, system, or component with intention. As a noun, "a design" is used for either the final (solution) plan (e.g. proposal, drawing, model, description) or the result of implementing that plan in the form of the final product of a design proces. This classification aside, in its broadest sense no other limitations exist and the final product can be anything from socks and jewellery to graphical user interfaces and charts. Even virtual concepts such as corporate identity and cultural traditions such as celebration of certain holidays are sometimes designed. More recently, processes (in general) have also been treated as products of design, giving new meaning to the term "process design".

The person designing is called a designer, which is also a term used for people who work professionally in one of the various design areas, usually also specifying which area is being dealt with.

Designing often requires a designer to consider the aesthetic, functional, and many other aspects of an object or a process, which usually requires considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design.

Being defined so broadly, there is no universal language or unifying institution for designers of all disciplines. This allows for many differing philosophies and approaches toward the subject. However, serious study of design demands increased focus on the design process.
The various levels of jewellery model making.

With our fist-hand knowledge and experience throughout the jewellery model design with controlling the manufacturing process from start to finish, we deliver quality.
